We are very proud of our owner Tyler Burnett for being chosen as one of the top 40 under 40 in the local @vipmurfreesboro magazine! 👇🏼 ‘ A Murfreesboro native and graduate of
Middle Tennessee State University in
Entrepreneurship, Tyler Burnett was drafted
by the Houston Astros after playing for Blue
Raiders Baseball. He played for the Astros
from 2010 until 2012, before starting Goat
Turf, a $25 million artificial turf company. The biggest risk Burnett took in his career
was leaving the high paying sales job he
took after leaving baseball to use what he
learned in college about entrepreneurship
and pursue his own business. Taking the
risk also gave him the chance to once again
be part of a team and feel a sense of impact.
“Goat Turf is a family,” said Burnett, “and
we know that what we do impacts our
customers, our employees, our vendors, and
the community in which we live.”
His father, Steve, has had a tremendous
impact on Burnett’s life. He has been
with him every step of the way, and really
challenged him to be all that he can be.
“There is no way I would be the man I am
today without him by my side,” he said.
A community of family and friends got
Burnett through a recent bout of leukemia.
He was diagnosed in August of 2023, and he
is now in remission after eighteen months
of chemotherapy treatments.
“I have a new perspective on life after going
through leukemia,” added Burnett. “I will
be more intentional in my relationships,
enjoy life a little more, and not take a day
or my health for granted. And I wake up
every morning wanting to make the world a
better place in which to live. ‘
